It is certified that M/s Marine Engineering and Trade Services, 61, Moulana Azad Road, Port Blair, has manufactured two steel pontoons (size 12.5 x 6.5 x 1.5 m) for Indian Navy vide this Office work order number 344/OLC/WO/148 dated 24.3.2000.
The team spirit which encompasses, active involvement of ship’s staff; speedy decision making and immediate solution to the roadblocks by CGRHQ(W) and CGRPT(MB); and transforming the same into results through speedy and well planned execution by the yard has culminated into satisfactory completion of the short refit of ICGS Meera Behn ahead of schedule and is much appreciated.
On the day of laying down office, I take the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for all the co-operation and help rendered during my tenure at Naval Ship Repair Yard as Captain/Commodore Superintendent since Jun 93.
This is to certify that M/s Marine Engineering and Trade Services, Port Blair, who is registered with Indian Coast Guard Region(A&N) for undertaking major/minor repairs of Hull/Engg/Electrical jobs had responded very effectively and quickly to provide all technical assistance to Indian Coast Guard Ships after the Tsunami.
Their timely and round the clock assistance has played a major role in getting ships out to sea in short notice thereby enabling successful evacuation of stranded people in the Nicobar group of Islands.
M/s Marine Engineering & Trade Services, Port Blair has been carrying out the short refits/ERDD’s of Coast Guard ships and crafts in Port Blair during my tenure as CGRPS (PBR) Jun 12 to Aug 14. During my tenure the firm has carried out 04 Short Refits, 02 ERDD’s and 02 Annual Routines. All the refits has been completed within the stipulated duration without time and cost over run. Yard possesses the capability to undertake refits of higher capacity.
M/s METS has the ability to conduct the various activities with technical competence; co-ordination of activities with various agencies; procurement of the requisite spares of equipments installed without compromising the quality. The capacity of the yard to import spares from the OEM has been cost and time saver.
The yards enthusiasm to coordinate & complete the various activities connected to the refit has been praiseworthy and commendable. I wish M/s METS all the success and prosperous future ahead.

This is to certify that M/s Marine Engineering and Trade Services, Port Blair is a registered yard of Indian Coast Guard for carrying out Refits of Coast Guard Ship. The firm was awarded contract for Short Refit of ICGS Durgabai Deshmukh vide contract no RHQ (A&N)/325/11/DBD, dated 17 Jan 2014. While carrying out Refits, M/s Marine Engineering and Trade Services has transported 03 nos. Main Engines MTU 16V 4000 series from coast guard jetty, Port Blair to workshop of M/s MTU, Pune and back, duly packed along with carrying cradles for carrying out W-6 routines at MTU Pune. The yard has carried out transportation of these engines smoothly, successfully and within the time frame. The whole operation was handled by the yard with utmost responsibility and accountability, thus appreciated by the Indian Coast Guard authority.
