Our Story
Established in 1989, M/S Marine Engineering and Trade Services (METS) is a premier ship repair company based in Port Blair, specializing in hull, engineering, and electrical repairs and maintenance. Our expertise covers a wide range of critical ship components including propulsion systems, main engines, gearboxes, diesel engines, alternators, steering gear, and advanced electronic communication equipment such as GPS and SART.
METS is recognized for its capability to handle complex repair projects and turnkey solutions, earning accolades from the Indian Coast Guard, Ministry of Defense, and Andaman and Nicobar administrations. We operate from a strategically located workshop, situated 200 meters from the repair jetty within the Port Management Board premises, which are secured by CISF.
METS stands as a trusted partner in the maritime industry, offering high-quality, reliable ship repair and refitting services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
We pioneered the Indian Coast Guard refit program in the A&N Islands in 1996 and are currently the sole firm registered with the Indian Navy at Port Blair for complete offloaded refits of naval vessels. METS has successfully undertaken and completed multiple high-profile refit projects, including Indian Coast Guard OPVs exceeding 100 meters in length, and has provided essential spares for various Indian Naval vessels like the INS Investigator Class, INS TIR, INS Magar, INS Deepak, INS Shakti, INS SUTLEJ class, and NIREEKSHAK.
Our electrical and electronics division provides exceptional services, including troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of sophisticated electrical systems, ensuring reliable and safe ship operations.
